Bulgaria’s Difficult Road to Political Stability

I write this post from Terminal E of Boston’s Logan Airport, awaiting my flight to Copenhagen and then on to Prague. Before starting my European adventure, I wanted to share my latest analytic piece for the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI), which was published online earlier today. The article addresses the recent elections in Bulgaria, a country in which my family and I lived from 1997-2000.

Suffice it to say that almost nobody on this side of the Atlantic follows Bulgaria so FPRI reacted very positively to my offer to try and make sense of the late April plebiscite in that oft-forgotten land. If you have any interest, the article can be found here.

    Good stuff Bob. You’re right, Bulgaria is generally found on page 13 yet has much more to say in the big picture of NATO and Russian relations.
